Breed: Valais Blacknose The Valais Blacknose is often called the world's cutest sheep, instantly recognized by its striking black face, spiral horns, and snow-white fleece. Originating more than 600 years ago in the remote Swiss Alps of the Valais region, this remarkable breed was developed to thrive at elevations exceeding 2,000 metres (6,500 feet), where harsh winters, rocky terrain, and alpine meadows have shaped one of the world's most resilient sheep. Their naturally long, luxurious wool protects them from the mountain climate while creating the breed's unmistakable, cloud-like appearance that has captivated people around the world. Crafted from the sheep's annual wool shearing and felted onto a premium Merino wool backing using ancient wet-felting techniques, it is a coarse feeling wool that is exceptionally full, plush, and richly textured, this generous oversized piece is perfect for draping over a large armchair, bed, or sofa, or for creating a luxurious accent on the floor beside a bed or fireplace.
